Renew

Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 51: 10

As in what this was to show Davids devotion to God and how much he wanted to stay with God forever. He unlike the kings before him, repented for his wrong doings and begged God to not take his spirit from David.

At times we all wonder if we are even capable of forgiveness, but to be able to recognize our wrong doing and then repent with all our soul to god, take's a lot to just do it. If you are reading this right now, i urge you to put as much devotion as possible into God throughout the next week, not only reading the bible and praying, but also by living completely for him. We all can do this just as David does, but before we fail if possible.

This is the verse I'm using as a marker for the restart in this blog. the website will be updated soon, and then to start a new series in expecting great things from God, and my own verse dissection.

Running From Temptation

Temptation

Read the following from Genesis 39:1-23

"1 Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt. Potiphar, an Egyptian who was one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had taken him there.

2 The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. 3 When his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD gave him success in everything he did, 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all that he owned, the LORD blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the LORD was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. 6 So he left in Joseph's care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he did not concern himself with anything except the food he ate.
Now Joseph was well-built and handsome, 7 and after a while his master's wife took notice of Joseph and said, "Come to bed with me!"

8 But he refused. "With me in charge," he told her, "my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care. 9 No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God?" 10 And though she spoke to Joseph day after day, he refused to go to bed with her or even be with her.

11 One day he went into the house to attend to his duties, and none of the household servants was inside. 12 She caught him by his cloak and said, "Come to bed with me!" But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house.

13 When she saw that he had left his cloak in her hand and had run out of the house, 14 she called her household servants. "Look," she said to them, "this Hebrew has been brought to us to make sport of us! He came in here to sleep with me, but I screamed. 15 When he heard me scream for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."

16 She kept his cloak beside her until his master came home. 17 Then she told him this story: "That Hebrew slave you brought us came to me to make sport of me. 18 But as soon as I screamed for help, he left his cloak beside me and ran out of the house."

19 When his master heard the story his wife told him, saying, "This is how your slave treated me," he burned with anger. 20 Joseph's master took him and put him in prison, the place where the king's prisoners were confined.
But while Joseph was there in the prison, 21 the LORD was with him; he showed him kindness and granted him favor in the eyes of the prison warden. 22 So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there. 23 The warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph's care, because the LORD was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did."

Joseph Had done very well in the eyes of the Lord and would not give in to temptaion even when it was from the women of married to his master. For the very reason that he would not do wrong to his master, but more so that he would not do wrong in God's eyes because it was sin in his eyes.
This however in the end would cause him trouble and send him to jail. But God would never leave him because he was in God's favor. He would be in favor of the warden and eventually work his way up to the pharaoh because he always chose to do what God asked of him.

The point of this lesson is that God only lets us go through what we can handle. in a similar experience in "2 Samuel" David would be tempted because of the beauty of Bathsheba. However unlike Joseph, David would fail and commit Adultery by sleeping with her.
David then had to hide it when she became pregnant. He tried to have Uriah come back and sleep with her, but he was to concerned with his comrades, Even having him drunk wouldnt work. Eventially he would have him killed and then marry Bathsheba. This would cause him to lose his son. But God would not leave him because he sent Nathen to tell him of his wrong doing and what is to come. David repent and was spared but God still judged him but instead of having him killed, his baby son would die.

Even a Godly Man can fail. We must always think of god When temptation comes to even think of having a chance to escaping it. God Always gives us opportunities to be righteous and to become stronger.

Prayer from Psalms51:1-2,10:
Be gracious to me, God
according to your faithful love;
according to your abundant compassion,
blot out my rebellion.
Wash away my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin.
God, create a clean Heart for me
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

The unexpected part 1

Ever have one of those moments when you want to do something even though you know it's wrong? but your so called buddy is telling you to just do it because no one will know, and it's fun?

Well God Knows, He sees you even if nobody else does. If the thought of thinking nobody will comes to you, then always remember that God will know and he is the most important person. I'm saying this because like everyone else in the world, we get tempted to do things that we shouldn't and the only remorse we have is thought of what others think of us, well what god thinks of you is more important because He loves us no matter what. The others we hope to please only care if we are doing what they want us to do and dont care if we get hurt.

I dont have a verse found for this one yet but I will find one eventually.

Call To Action: God's will

All the time as Christians we wish to do God's will, but when it's staring us right the face we often doubt that we ourselves can do so or we think of what other will think of us. But really we are doubting God when we doubt ourselves. God has a purpose for us and using our talents to do his will, just as Philippians says:

"Philippians 2:13-16 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.
14Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe 16as you hold out[a] the word of life—in order that I may boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor for nothing."

God knows exactly what we can do and asks us to forget the world and focus on his will, and when the day comes that we see him in Heaven we can say that we did not turn and walk away when we could have helped someone who truly needed God that very second, or say we couldn't do something because it seemed to big but really knowing inside that we can do anything God calls us to do.

Luke 9:62 62Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God."

The idea that if we don't look back and stop when we are so close to doing something big is very frightening when expectations of teenagers today is set so low. But God makes us stronger in every step we make if we don't turn and run.

Luke 22:61-62: 61The Lord turned and looked straight at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word the Lord had spoken to him: "Before the rooster crows today, you will disown me three times.62And he went outside and wept bitterly."

Even when we fail, God forgives us, He has something big meant for us, which gives the words "We were meant for so much more" Meaning and truth. God Meant for us to do so much more then what we are expected in the world's view. We hear it everyday that the generation of our youth will bring about the future of the world, well in that future, we could change the world in doing God's will.

The Experience Day 2

This is a bit dry compared to the first one but the next weeks message will be better and on another subject.

Faith, Fellowship , and Understanding

During the Teen years it's hard to stay faithful. Which is why it's good to have fellowship with other Christians to help you stay focused. Among other things that we as Christians must do, we must be there for each other in the hard times and good times. One of things we forget is that even in the good times, those are some of the times we need the help of those christian friends to help us stay active in our faith. Sometimes even though we aren't going down hill and it seems like our faith is good, but that sometimes means were just standing still and could be doing so much more. There are things that stare us in the face and we think nothing about them, like Bullying/ Teasing others, or talking behind the back of others. Those are the chances that we have to be there for someone and to stick up for them, I'm sure there are other times.

Luke 6:27 Love for Enemies "But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you" (NIV)

As we are called to serve God and love others as we Love ourselves, This also means loving our enemies and doing good to them even if they are wrong to us. This is one of the hardest things to do when there are many people out there who do or say things to others to make themselves feel better. But our job is to treat them better then they treat us. Show them through your actions that you are a Christian and that you care for everyone no matter what they've done to you.

Romans 5:3-4 "Not only so, but we[a] also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4perseverance, character; and character, hope."(NIV)

We who must live in this world must endure the suffering and troubles but also must remember to live a faithful life for god and work hard and do all for Christ who lived in the world and endured the hate of the world for us. Live like he would and do everything thinking about what God thinks and not what the world thinks.

The Experience Day 1

The Experience is the first series which I will be using to speak in the Blog and the Website. This series is focusing on the view's and message that people often mistake for something different when they hear things or read the, in the Bible and decide to stop before reading the important stuff.

The christian attitude.

2 Timothy 2:22 ”So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

As a Teenager, the years of your youth can be a bit hectic and confusing, I know this because I'm also a teenager and know just how hard it is to stay faithful with Christ in all area's, and mostly in school and other public places where people would notice and judge you for being a christian. Although the worlds definition of a christian is corrupt and they have a reason for that, Christians today come in two variations. The Christians who throw the book at people and judge people for things they have done wrong or are doing wrong by tearing them down and acting on godly, and then there are the true Christians who endure the hardships of the school environment and Job sites with a good attitude, and instead of judging people and throwing the book at people like the Christians the world brands us as, they live as an example and do the right things because it's right and not because they were told to. True Christians show by their actions that they represent joy and live there lives for Christ. These are the Christians who understand the bible more clearly and instead of judging people they become the youth that stand out among others and show that through the hard times they can live without hiding behind an addiction or false identity. Just as 2 Timothy 2:22 says:

”So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.”

God calls us to abandon the ways of the world and even though we must live in the world we can choose to turn from the the sinful addictions and other things that often take us down a path of sin even if we don't realize it. Instead we can pursue righteousness and faith by working for God because we want to, which means helping others with a good attitude and doing so for anyone who asks you no matter who they are. To Love is to love all as you would yourself or God, because if you serve your neighbor you are serving God. In the same way, you would treat someone the way you want to be treated and that means no matter what they've done to you, you choose to treat them better then they treat you. If you do so then Peace is in your heart along with Love, Faith, and Righteousness, Because none can work without the other. If you treat someone with Love and Respect, they are likely to see the difference.

Forget Ordinary and live a loving life and not a hateful one.

Live the Experience of a true Christian.
